Referrals

01
Clients can be referred for services under a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP; via a Chronic Disease Management Plan; Worksafe Victoria; NDIS self managed funding or self-referred.

02

To enquire whether you are eligible to receive Medicare rebates you will need to book an appointment with your GP. Your GP will assess your needs and goals and if suitable will provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and letter of referral.

03

Medicare rebates are available for psychological treatment by registered psychologists under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.  Under this scheme individuals diagnosed with a mental health condition can access up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year.

04

Clients are welcome to self-refer for sessions as private fee paying clients and rebates can be provided by private health insurance if eligible. Check with your insurance fund.

GP referrals for psychological consultation through Worksafe Victoria are also welcome. A relevant referral from your GP is required.

Fees / Funding

01
The Australian Psychological Society sets recommended rates for Psychologists. Our rates are set below this.

Session consultation fees are $235.oo per 50 minute session ($185 for concession/reduced income or university students). The current rebate for Registered Psychologists is $98.95 per session. If you have concerns about the gap payments please contact Rachel prior to your appointment.

If you have a private health insurance cover for psychology treatment you can claim directly with your insurer. Self-managed NDIS funded clients can also claim directly or via a plan manager.

02

At the end of your appointment, your session fee can be processed using autopayments. Once processed, we will process your Medicare claim online for you, in which the rebate will be deposited into your nominated account with Medicare.

An SMS reminder will be sent for your appointments booked.  This may occur one day before your scheduled appointment.

Cancellations

In accordance with The Australian Psychological Society (APS), a full fee will be charged for any missed, cancelled or rescheduled appointments within 24 hours (excluding weekends). Cancellation fees are charged as this time has been set aside for you and cannot be filled at short notice.  In order to avoid these fees, please provide us as much notice as possible.
